Remote Control Airplane - The Unique Fun in Flying Safely

Did you ever stare up in the sky and see an airplane zoom by and wonder how much fun it would be to control one? I did. I still want to become a pilot eventually, but for now I having fun flying my remote control airplane. At first, I admit, it was a challenge to learn how to fly one, but with patience and practice; I learned how to effectively control a remote control airplane. There are many types of remote control airplanes to choose from. To start, buy a cheaper airplane since more than likely, you will crash a few times as you learn how to coordinate yourself.

There are some books, DVDs and software on the Internet that will help you learn how to control one. They will give you a sense of what to expect when you first launch your airplane for the first time. Nothing beats hands-on experience though. Personally I have learn that the hardest part is learning how to control the remote control airplane the way you want regardless of the which way it is facing you. When you are driving a car, you are always facing the front of the car, but with any remote control vehicle, this is not the case. If the remote control airplane is facing directly at you, pushing left on the control stick will move the airplane to your right. Confusing? Yes at first it will be, but always be aware of which way your airplane is flying. If you lose sight of it and cannot determine which way it is facing, it might be too late. When you are first learning, fly the plane at a low height and not too far from you. Again, this bears repeating, always be aware of which way the airplane is facing. That is rule number one of flying an airplane. Another very important tip: Your first few flights should concentrate on trimming the airplane. This means settings the trim control on the airplane so that whenever you are not touching the controls, the airplane is flying straight and level. If you do not perform trimming flight tests, then your remote control airplane flying will be erratic, frustrating and difficult to control. Trust me, I found out the hard way.

Understanding The Remote Controlled Airplanes Stalling

There are many misconceptions especially among non fliers about stalling a remote controlled airplane or a normal plane for that matter.

The first is that a stall is related to engine failure. An aerodynamic stall has nothing to do with engine power, and the plane will not fall out of the sky if the engine quits.

Another misconception, as often seen in movies, is that the plane will go into a dive and become uncontrollable without any chance of recovering.

Sine the dawn of aviation pilots have been stalling there aircraft intentionally.
It is therefore important to understand stalling and what happens to the remote controlled airplanes once they enter a stall in order to avoid the dreaded stall accident.

RC Planes - an Inexpensive & Funny Hobby

RC Airplanes are way cheaper than flying the real thing and just as fun Most people don't have the money for the big boys but anyone can afford a remote control airplane, they start for less than a month of internet service in many cases.

Men, women and children are now able to fly. During the last 20 years many new airplanes have been developed and people fly planes for fun every day. Known as RC airplanes, helicopters, jets and even a flying bug, building an RC plane is now a very easy thing to do. They come in kits with assembly in under an hour depending on the model. Some come with simple snap together parts and your flying in less than an hour. It's a great pass time, soon you will realize that it's time to get started for yourself or family.

Remote Control For Kids - Toy and Mini RC Helicopters and Airplanes Spell Fun For Youngsters

Once upon a time, not too long ago, flying remote control airplanes was considered too difficult and costly for all but the most ardent enthusiast. Remote control helicopters were even more demanding and expensive, and neither was an appropriate hobby for non-adults. But in recent years, with the introduction of toy and mini helicopters and planes, all that's changed, particularly where helis are concerned. Today, kids remote control has, excuse the phrase, really taken off.

Remote Control Aircraft Are Naturally Fascinating to Children of All Ages

What happens when you're standing outside with your little one, and you hear the whistling sound of jet engines overhead? Isn't your attention suddenly drawn to your child as they point toward the sky, jump up and down, and excitedly yell "airplane, airplane?"

Nothing compares to the look of utter captivation on every youth's face when they spot an aircraft flying across that blue expanse above them.

My grandson never tires of telling me how he went up for a demonstration flight at the county fair one day. It was his first airplane ride, and one that he'll always maintain as part of his most favorite memories. After the plane leveled out the pilot handed the controls over to my grandson, and let him fly the aircraft for a while. He set his mind before this day to become a pilot as an adult, and I know he'll always cherish flying that airplane at the age of four (I think) as a major event.

Remote Control Airplanes Types - A Brief Introduction

There are many kinds of airplanes around, and there are a ton of options when it comes to buying something that you would like. First the type of airplane is distinguished by two main categorize, the micro RC airplane and the regular RC airplane. Then there are the BNF, RTF, ARF, and the PNP levels within each category. There are so many options that to the new hobbyist it can be confusing. However, once the hobbyist builds a basis of understanding regarding the various platforms, then a wise decision can be reached.

A micro remote control airplane allows a hobbyist to fly the plane safely indoors. They are light weight, great with maneuvers and are typically made of foam. They have wingspans as large as 6 inches, and come in many colors and sizes. The micro RC airplane is extremely adaptable and can be reconfigured easily.

The traditional hobbyist enjoys the regular RC airplane. The idea of a regular airplane can mean many things. But in this instance it refers to the traditional RC airplanes. These items are run on gasoline, heavier and made of metal in some cases. This is in direct opposition to the micro airplanes which, in turn are usually battery operated, and come with a lightweight titanium, or plastic frame or as mentioned before made of foam. The regular remote control planes, can be hazardous because of the gasoline that is used to fuel them; but in the hands of an experienced hobbyists it is completely safe. Thus, the micro versions are the planes of the future soaring around utilizing technology that makes them almost foolproof.
